Hello!
***With the warmer temperatures obviously sticking around, we’re going to start doing water play soon. If your child has an extra swim suit at home at keep at WWF, that’d be terrific. Thanks!
At this age, we tend to look at ‘art’ as ‘sensory’ play. While our pieces of artwork are always unique and interesting, the strongest force of this experience was the sensorial aspect.
At the beginning, friends used the paint brush to paint different colors onto the paper. They asked for new colors when they were done with their current color.
Once we finished a couple pieces of artwork, we decided to venture out.
Lulu experimented with the paint on her fingers. She took the pink circular brush and squeezed all of the paint out. The paint then went onto her hands where she started to squish the paint throughout her fingers.
Exploration is key. We all know our boundaries; what we’ve done before. New and challenging experiences opens all of us up to the unknown. For us, it’s paint all over our hands rather than the paper .
With our sun hats on our heads, we headed outside. Hand in hand, we walked around the yard going from activity to activity.
Anna loves looking in the mirror at herself! It’s been a long week. Not only is Miss Anna dealing with new adults, kids, and surroundings but a new activity level, smells, and routine. She’s doing awesome! Our friends are being very loving to Anna in this transition period .
For breakfast, children had toast with butter and cinnamon along with oranges. Lunch consisted of brown rice with lentils, green peas, and strawberries. PM snack was strawberries and string cheese.
Have a lovely night!
I love seeing the painting, and well put: it is a sensory thing! Ok, we are also proud of our new friedge art as well. Thanks for investing energy and time in the wonderful, messy stuff!
