Exploring patterns.
Shapes.
Recognizing numbers.
Counting. And ending our morning in song…..with the magnetic spheres and rods. The many faces of math.

Good Afternoon!
This morning, Nahla and her mom Heidi came to visit us. Nahla, who is 16 months, will be starting at WWF in mid August so she stopped by to say hi! Our friends enjoyed getting to know her and we look forward to seeing her a few more times before she officially starts.
Friends headed into the kitchen where they worked with shaving cream. One of our friends noted that it was “soft” while someone else pointed out that it was “messy”. When Lulu was all done, she said that there were trucks in her shaving cream! It’s not only our goal to offer age appropriate activities throughout the day but we also want conversations to blossom from those activities. At this age, kids have growth with their vocabulary and language in general week to week, sometimes day to day. We’re getting SO many words!
As we headed outside, we noticed it was much cooler than yesterday! (Crazy to think we were playing in the water yesterday morning!!) Friends went super fast down the hill. We love getting out the bikes and picking our favorite one!
Nora hopped and jumped over the logs that are in the backyard.
Gross motor was the name of the game this morning while we were outside!
For breakfast, children had toast with soy butter and pears. Lunch consisted of tortillas filled with scrambled eggs, corn, and strawberries/peaches. PM snack was string cheese and animal crackers.
Have a lovely night!
Thank you, John, for organizing and launching a rocket! We had a great time!
Wee Sprouts: Cucumbers. Breakfast: Whole wheat muffins and raisins. Lunch: Farm fresh scrambled egg role up, PPC peaches/strawberries and corn. Snack: Hard boiled eggs and pretzels.
Happy Tuesday!
Friends cuddled with one another as they started their day off with stories. “Teacher stories” are our favorite lately.
Take One. Take Two. Take Three.
We met our older friends outside this morning for WATER PLAY!! We were quite excited!
One of our favorite activities was the water table. While it still offered the water aspect, the sprinkler was a little too ‘in your face’ (no pun intended) for our friends. However, we did warm up to it throughout the morning. Our older Wee Friends LOVED it though. We enjoyed watching our friends happily run through the sprinkler.
Naia had some help from Sophia and Sloane this morning. They showed Naia how to run in the sprinkler and then took her hand to help her! Such great friends we have!
Even with the water cleaning us off, some of us did get a little dirty. Lucy had a ball in the mud and sand. She headed to the water table to try and get clean. When we get this dirty, it just means that we had FUN!
With everyone else napping, Tate worked on his building skills. He proceeded to act like an animal, scream, and knock the tower down!
For breakfast, children had cheesy eggs and pears. Lunch consisted of hummus on tortillas, broccoli, and strawberries. PM snack was Colby Jack block cheese and raisins.
Have a great night!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY, EREN! Today, Eren turns three!!!
The morning hours were spent anticipating WATER PLAY! Finally, we got outside and enjoyed sprinklers, mud, sand rivers and water bliss.
Thanks to all for bringing in water wear! Have a great day. –Laurie
Wee Sprouts: Celery sticks. Breakfast: whole wheat bagel with cream cheese and pear slices. Lunch: Hummus on whole wheat tortillas, raw broccoli and bananas. Snack: Eren’s Birthday muffins and cheese sticks.
It’s summertime in the Wee World and we are starting to see the signs of it all around us.
Beautiful fruits! Purple Play-Do! Big Kid Visitors! Hot sunshine! Garden harvest!
And a generally slower pace to explore, discover and just….be.
The big news today is the Pulley and Bucket Work that Tami built for us this weekend.
We’ve postponed water play ‘til tomorrow-so please make sure your Wee Friend comes to school with their bathing suit! We have towels.
Enjoy your summer day. –Laurie
Wee Sprouts: Carrots

Lunch: Whole Wheat Pasta with Chicken, peas and fresh PPC pear slices

Since we’re almost through July, it looks as though tomorrow’s going to be a hot one. We WILL do water play tomorrow morning so please make sure your child has appropriate attire (i.e. swimsuit) for tomorrows festivities! Thank you!
For breakfast, children had chex and strawberries. AM snack was peas. Lunch consisted of whole grain noodles with chicken, blueberries, and peas. PM snack was hard boiled eggs and blueberries.
Have a great night!
Happy Friday!
**Next week looks like it’s going to be a hot one! If your child does not already have a swimsuit or attire that they could wear for water play here at WWF, please bring this in by Monday! Thanks so much.
Lulu, Saskia, and Naia went on a walk this morning. We spotted a few birds, flowers, and the mail truck! We always enjoy taking walks around the neighborhood.
When we got back, friends went straight for the bikes! Lulu and Saskia went down the hill as fast as they could while Naia enjoyed reading many stories.
Children gathered on the deck and had group Lego time. Most friends decided to get a Lego car and drive it around the deck.
A little bit before lunch, we had a visitor in the back yard. All of a sudden, Lucy started screaming and pointing to the garage. She had spotted a pigeon. We quickly found out that this pigeon was a very friendly bird. He/She swooped into the yard where it walked around for awhile. A couple of us were not too sure about this friendly creature but Lucy and Tate were determined to catch it! We talked about how birds are nice and wouldn’t hurt our bodies but that we could keep our distance and watch with our eyes.
It finally left us and we waved goodbye to the friendly pigeon.
For breakfast, children had cheerios and banana/honeydew melon. Lunch consisted of cream cheese on whole grain tortillas, strawberries, and mixed vegetables. PM snack was mixed fruit and string cheese.
Hope everyone has a lovely weekend.
