Anna and Franklin read a few books together this afternoon.

Anna took a short break in the middle of their stories to play dress up. She grabbed a scarf and tried out different ways to wear it.

Franklin thought that was a fun idea and made his way over to the dress up station. He found a hard hat and he and Miss Mindy turned putting it on and off into a funny game!

The Frozen soundtrack seems to never be out of style at Wee Friends! This morning was spent dancing to a variety of Frozen songs. Friends asked each other, “Is this Ana? Is this Elsa?” trying to guess who was singing. There was twirling and swirling and running and so much JOY.

Books are a huge part of our Wee World. It is always interesting to see how and where friends decide to read. Today friends flipped the stools over in the science area to create some unique book reading seating. Whether sitting, lounging or laying down we love to look at books!

Kindergarten: The interest in 3D shapes continued today as Elliott examined a sheet of various dodecahedra and asked to make a paper model of a dodecahedron made from rhombuses. A quick search on the computer yielded a template and they got to work. Talk about fine motor practice! These tiny models have many small flaps and curves to cut. In the end, we wound up with some really cool 12-sided shapes.

Wee Sprouts: Pea pods. Breakfast: Brown rice cakes with no-nut butter and bananas. Lunch: Whole wheat bread with hummus, fresh broccoli, pears and bananas. Snack: Pretzels and mozzarella cheese sticks.

Anna and Emma spent the morning in the kitchen writing in their personal journals. This was Emma’s first time using her journal. Soon it will be filled with colorful scribbles! Anna flipped through her notebook and admired some of her previous entries. She would look at a page and say, “Pretty!”

The rainbow stackers were brought down to play with this afternoon. Some of the pieces would roll away and our friends would have to chase after them!

Ruby, Anna, and David were acting silly together on the habitrail slide. They were having fun sliding down backwards and on their bellies and then rolling around when they got to the carpet!

Breakfast was toast with sweet pea butter and kiwi. Lunch consisted of whole grain brown rice with cheese, kiwi, and carrots. Afternoon snack was graham crackers and block cheese.

Have a great night!

*Reminder: Conference sign-up sheets are due tomorrow. Thanks!

Today has been one of those days where every single child seemed to always be deeply engaged in their work. Throughout the morning and afternoon friends were playing together in every area of the house. They built magna-tile houses to hold animals and completed puzzles only to tear them up and do them again!

DSCN1375DSCN1383

There was spirited imaginative play going on in housekeeping, with friends making beds and taking care of each other. The latest food creation from the kitchen area? Rice with “lots and lots of mustard!”

DSCN1376DSCN1385

Today friends gathered to watch Miss Mindy check what the temperature was outside to see if we could go outside. During this process friends noticed a picture of a tornado on Mindy’s weather application. This led to an in-depth discussion of tornados, with friends watching a few videos. Later, friends were heard discussing what tornados look like. One friend shared, “I don’t like tornados!”

DSCN1380

Our Wee Frienders love to help out. Here two friends fold our hand towels!

DSCN1388

Wee Sprouts: Carrots. Breakfast: Corn Chex and fresh blackberries. Lunch: Whole grain brown rice with cheddar cheese, carrots, grapes and bananas. Snack: Pretzels and peanuts.
