Good Afternoon!
Hope everyone had a terrific weekend!
***At pick up tonight, please see a teacher as we have an important document that each family must pick up. In September, we are up for our re-accreditation. Each family has a survey that they have to fill out and we’re asking that these surveys be returned to us NO LATER than Friday, August 26th (this Friday). There is a sheet attached with directions. Please ask if you have any questions! –Thanks so much.
Today, we welcomed our newest friend, Elijah! He flowed seamlessly into our classroom this morning and enjoyed exploring the environment.
This week, we’re going to be focusing on the following FAB’s:
Social Studies: K.2.1 Give examples of people who are community helpers (inside the classroom and outside the classroom) and describe how they help us.
Social Studies: K.2.3 Give examples of classroom and school rules and explain how each helps us.
Today, we talked about our class in general. Throughout the morning, we referred to the sign in message when we needed to move our bodies. There are some ‘rules’ that we have to follow in order to keep the class safe. If friends needed a little extra activity, we had them go to the habitrail where they can move their body around. It’s always an exciting time in the fall when the class makes the annual transition!
In large group, we read a story about doctors. We found out that many of our friends have the same doctor! There was an open discussion that was had about how doctors help our community. “He gives me shots!”, said a friend. As a group, we came up with ways that we can help our Wee Friends community. Jackson commented, “We have to help because we’re the oldest kids here!” It’s great when our older friends not only take responsibility for themselves but for their younger peers as well.
Breakfast– Corn chex and dried apricots.
Lunch– Whole wheat pasta with butter and kidney beans, apples/oranges, and broccoli.
PM snack– Whole milk yogurt and PPC pineapple.
Wee Sprout– Carrots.
Have a great night!
-Mindy
