Good Afternoon!

In large group, we’re wrapping up our author study on Helen Lester and today, we read ‘Tackylocks and the Three Bears’. The storyline resembled ‘Goldilocks and the Three Bears’ so when we came to an important event in the story, friends used their background knowledge to guess what was going to happen next!

Our journaling time today allowed for children to get their thoughts down on paper. Lucy drew colored flowers that resemble the flowers in her yard at home!

Our older friends have been mentoring their younger 4 year old friends at the workbench this week. Jackson is a seasoned carpenter and was more than willing to help out!

The rest of our morning centered around what’s becoming our morning routine; puzzles! We’re continuing to build our puzzle skills which allow friends to try more challenging puzzles. While doing puzzles is more of an individual activity, we see teamwork occurring when children help one another!

We used stencils today to create with. While Ruby was using the letter stencil, a couple friends at the table recognized letters that they were familiar with and shouted them out.

A group of children went on a bug exploration this morning. Using many bug containers, friends searched throughout the backyard to find spiders, worm, and rollie pollies. After, they created a habitat for them to live in.

We took a break to pick vegetables in the garden that appeared ready. The process of growing the vegetable, picking the vegetable, and then getting to eat it is so fascinating to our friends! A few children took a break to get a kale snack Smile.
