Good Afternoon!
We compared leaf sizes, broom length, and the weight of rocks at the farm this morning. Friends took this opportunity to use comparison words when describing nature objects that they found whether we were in the barn or out in the woods.
Lucy found a really big rock so children searched for rocks that were smaller than her rock. Together, we also searched for sticks that were longer or shorter in length. Even while walking, friends started shouting out, “That tree is taller than that tree!”.
K.M.1: Make direct comparisons of the length, capacity, weight, and temperature of objects, and recognize which object is shorter, longer, taller, lighter, heavier, warmer, cooler, and holds more.
After searching for loose end pieces in nature, Lulu, Lucy, and Maddie set sail on a pirate ship! Using a tree stump and their forever expanding imaginations, they set sail working together, navigating the waters of the ocean. Here’s a few things that could be heard from our experienced sailors:
“Boom the canons! Ships have canons ya know, Mindy?!”
“Sails up! Canons behind!”
“There still some of the pirates left!”
This most likely was our last trip to the farm this season. We are so grateful for the experiences that we had and the things that we learned.

Back at Wee Friends, it was a PUMPKIN morning! Children took hammers to hammer in golf tees. It allowed friends to focus on their hand-eye coordination and motor skills.
Each child got their very own white pumpkin to decorate specialized to them! We loved the idea of getting our very own pumpkin.
Breakfast– Whole wheat toast with peanut butter and banana.
