This morning we cut open our pumpkin to see what was inside. We then had a big job ahead of us. We had a new sensory experience of scooping out the pulp and seeds. Friends shared that it felt slimy and we were given the option to use a spoon to scoop out the pulp and seeds rather than use our hands.

After we scooped out all the pulp and seeds, Miss Melinda turned our pumpkin into a jack-o-lantern. The small group friends sat in the reading area to brainstorm a name for the pumpkin. Each friend came up with their own name for the pumpkin.  We then put all the names into a jar and picked out a name. We would like to introduce Red, our jack-o-lantern.

During outside time the friends noticed our swimming friends return in the weehicle.  A group of friends came up with the idea of using the logs to build their own weehicle!

We even used our hands to make our very first leaf pile. It will be so much fun as we see more leaves fall and can make a bigger pile.
