Good Afternoon!

Here’s yesterday’s blog: we’re continuing to have problems with the internet so we very much appreciate your understanding Smile.

**Just a reminder: our annual Halloween Parade will take place next Tuesday, October 31st at 4:00 pm. We hope to see you there!

The welcome activity this morning focused on creating patterns using shapes. Maxwell and Grady explored the activity by using the shapes to create an ABAB pattern. After, they each used the shapes to make real world creations such as a house and a flower!

Children couldn’t wait to get started at the art table after breakfast. It quickly filled up with children who created art using paper and markers. Letter stencils were used which lead into a conversation about letters and the sounds that they make. A five year old friend was trying to spell a word using kid spelling and his peers helped him decipher between an ‘A’ and an ‘E’ sound. Younger peers listened intently to the conversation, picking up any new information that they could!

Lulu, Maddie, and Lucy made pattern bead bracelets this morning. They each chose a pipe cleaner and different colored beads to make their bracelet. All three friends chose the pattern ABCDABCD. A few of their younger peers also wanted to make a bracelet. Instead, our younger friends focused on their fine motor skills by putting on one bead at a time.

During our journal time, Lulu used her kid spelling to describe what she drew; ‘tine land’ or ‘tiny land’. Every child in our PRE-K/K large group is at a different developmental level. Our job is to meet them where they’re at while challenging them just a little Smile.
