Good Afternoon!
In pre-k/k group, we read ‘Bob the Dog’. Throughout the story, we pointed out various characters and wrote them on the blackboard. Afterwards, we discussed the setting of the story along with specific events that occurred throughout the story. We were able to put the events into the order in which they happened.
K.RL.2.3: Identify important elements of the text (e.g., characters, settings, or events).
We spent most of the morning making sure we’re reading for Valentine’s Day tomorrow. Each child had the opportunity to decorate their Valentine’s bag! We used a variety of heart stickers and added some markers also.
The rest of our morning went a little something like this:
Franklin used a wrench (or a fork as Franklin calls it) to move wooden nails throughout the workbench space.
Maxwell used his one to one correspondence skills to count the colorful counters that he had placed on the table.
Anna asked, “Mindy! I want to write my letters.” So, during her journal experience and with a little assistance, Anna wrote her letters!
Breakfast– Kix and PPC mango.
Lunch– Hummus on whole wheat flatbread, fresh apples, and PPC cherry tomatoes/cucumber.
PM snack– Whole wheat bagel with peanut butter and block cheese.
Wee Sprout– PPC cherry tomatoes/cucumber.
Have a great night!
-Mindy
