Happy Friday!
In pre-k/k group, we celebrated Dr. Seuss’s birthday by reading, ‘Thidwick, the Big Hearted Moose’. It’s a book we’ve read before but it’s been a while. Our older friends remembered very specific details and when these events occurred. For those of our friends who hadn’t read it before, they predicted what was going to happen a couple of times throughout the story.

A STEM project was offered at the art table this morning. Children used the following materials: pipe cleaners, coins, and play dough. They created rainbows using the play dough and pipe cleaners. A few of our older friends did this but then added to it. They put the plastic cup in the middle of the rainbow and added coins one at a time to see how many coins the structure would hold.
Maddie kept with the coin theme and sorted them into four cups: pennies, nickels, dimes, and quarters. She and Lucy discussed the similarities and differences that they noticed in each of the coins.
