Nahla, Maya, and Rosemary worked with number boards and pegs this morning. We counted out loud as we put a peg into the board. Friends worked on one-on-one counting as well as talking about numbers.
Annabelle is moving everywhere. Anna is definitely showing David and Annabelle the advantages of being mobile!
Anna was ecstatic as she crawled up the stairs, around the habitrail, and down the slide.
It’s amazing to watch these little personalities come out day after day!
For breakfast, children had chex and oranges. Lunch consisted of brown rice with chicken, corn, and apples. PM snack was banana and pretzels.

Have a terrific evening!
Cool winter temperatures have kept us inside for most the past few weeks, so whenever it is warm enough to go outside, we eagerly take the chance for some fresh air.
First, older friends gather a pile with all their outside essentials: hat, mittens, coat, snow pants, and boots. Once they have everything they need, they get ready themselves.
Teachers help younger friends by gathering their outdoor clothing and assisting when needed. Many friends are becoming more and more independent; Eren has mastered putting on his snow pants by himself!
Once friends are dressed for outside, they sit on the music rug and wait for a teacher to open the door.
Then it’s time to play in the snow!
Have a wonderful Wednesday. –Jessica

Happy March!
Rosemary, Nahla, and Maya were fascinated with the pianos this morning. The three of them shared two pianos and did a great job at taking turns with one another. Friends love to make sounds whether it’s with instruments or their bodies (stomping, clapping).
Maya has been in a stomping mood where she’ll walk around the house while loudly stomping her feet. A few children tagged along this morning.
We worked in the gross motor area where friends moved their bodies throughout the environment. It’s quite a special time when our baby friends learn to climb up the stairs so they can enjoy the habitrail with their older peers!
For breakfast, children had toast with butter and banana. Lunch consisted of whole grain noodles with cream cheese, green beans, and apples. PM snack was string cheese and graham crackers.
Have a lovely evening!
Children LOVE to move. Their natural tendency is to explore how their bodies work by jumping, balancing, twirling, crawling and moving all over the place! Movement is not only good for children’s bodies but for their minds as well. Movement activities help support their gross motor skills, help children practice following directions and build social skills such taking turns.
At Wee Friends we understand the power of movement and purposefully design movement activities to get our friends active and moving.
Friends also explored moving on the Blue Bus—practicing backwards rolls.
Moving makes us happy!
Have a great Monday. -Jessica

Some big milestones are happening in Wee Wee land! Annabelle is getting ready to crawl while Anna is so close to walking! The longevity of standing all by herself is getting longer and longer!
The gross motor area was full this afternoon as friends enjoyed crawling and walking around the habitrail before heading down the slide.
Rosemary and Nahla were very gentle and caring with their babies this afternoon. Nahla made sure to give her baby extra snuggles while Rosemary was attentive when giving a bottle to her baby!
