Happy July!

To start off our short week, friends gathered around Miss Marty as she read ‘teacher’ books. We classify these types of books as teacher books because they are longer in length and are all paperback. Children LOVE when we get these books down!

Children cuddled up to one another as they listened to the stories being read. At one point, Emma had her arms around her friends Clara and Zoi.

IMG_5312IMG_5323

Before we headed outside, Clara noticed our new painting project that was hanging up. She identified the sun that she had helped paint along with the hand butterflies that she and her friends painted!

IMG_5335IMG_5334

As we headed out on this cloudy day, friends scattered throughout the yard. The sand box was a popular place.

Siblings Eve and Caleb decided to swing with one another.

For breakfast, children had whole wheat toast with soy butter and pears. Lunch consisted of melted cheese on flatbread sandwiches, broccoli, and apples. PM snack was cantaloupe and cheddar cheese slices.

Have a terrific evening.

With the changes in season and schedules, there has been a more intentional focus on life/social skills as we get into our summer groove. We celebrate the many moments when friends have successful negotiations, gentle touches and inclusive words. Likewise, we guide our friends through tougher times as patterns of kind words and empathy are cultivated! All in all, a great Wee day.

Wee Sprouts: Cauliflower/broccoli. Breakfast: Corn Chex and bananas. Lunch: farm fresh egg casserole, mixed veggies, ww tortillas and watermelon (thanks, Finners!). Snack: Colby Jack cheese slices and crackers. Have a great day.

Happy Wednesday!

Daniel enjoyed his last day with his friends before he and his family take off for vacation! They are going to travel to many different countries! Daniel will be back in August when he starts to transition to Wee Friends Smile. Safe travels and have fun!

We had many different art experiences this morning.

The first three friends that were here this morning helped to make a gorgeous sun for a new art project for the classroom. Clara, Eve, and Keerthi used yellow and orange paint to begin this beautiful sun (especially with the downpour rain this AM). It sure did perk us up since the weather was so icky.

IMG_5102IMG_5103

IMG_5112IMG_5114

Our second experience was a free for all where friends could paint however they choose. Daniel and Eren decided to paint their hand first and then use their hand to paint the paper.

IMG_5117IMG_5118IMG_5126

IMG_5122IMG_5129

Then, each friend took a turn making a beautiful handprint butterfly that’s going to go in the classroom with the newly painted sun! Lu Lu loved the sensorial experience she got when the paint was painted onto her hand.

IMG_5133IMG_5130

For breakfast, friends had oatmeal and cantaloupe. Lunch consisted of tortillas filled with chicken and shredded cheese, cantaloupe, and corn. PM snack was raisins and string cheese (per Daniels request).

Have a great night.

WF Wednesday 6/26

  • No farm trip tomorrow!

006

This morning, we set out a bin full of different kinds of tape. Friends enjoyed the sticky and colorful work, both tearing and cutting pieces to create art.

022

Magna Tiles create both magic and mania. Friends love the tiles, but do not love to share them. This morning, we noticed that several friends avoided conflict by working with like tiles, and ones that their friends weren’t using. This happened naturally.

007

Caleb made progress on the cocoon piñata. We are under deadline as it must be finished for Jane’s Send Off on Friday.

Wee Sprouts: Cucumbers. Breakfast: Raisin Bran and raisins. Lunch: Chicken and cheese on whole wheat tortillas, corn and cantaloupe. Snack: Animal crackers and yogurt.

Have a great day.

Good Afternoon!

Emma started her Tuesday off with talking to a fly on the window. Throughout the house, all you heard was “Hi bug!” We’re very observant of our surroundings lately Smile.

IMG_5031IMG_5033

We headed outside this morning where we found our Wee friends doing water play! So we decided to jump right in. Our clothes did get dirty. Our hair was a little messy. Our face speckled with mud. However, we had FUN and had a great sensory filled morning! Smile

IMG_5044IMG_5046

Clara loved the sprinkler. When she got all muddy, a suggestion was made that she go in the sprinkler and wash off. That’s exactly what she did!
