Happy Tuesday!

Our Tuesday started off with friendly touches toward one another. Clara gently tickled Eren while P.K. gave him hugs. We sat with one another while involved in multiple interesting activities. Friends Clara, Emma, and Daniel sat with each other working with the krinkle blocks.

DSC08529DSC08530DSC08550

Clara and Emma love to dance. They bounce and move to the music. Whatever mood or period of the day we’re in, music sure gets us in a happy place!

DSC08538DSC08541DSC08540

Children headed over to work with different blocks. Eve chose to work with the wooden blocks. She placed them one on top of another and then put them away once she was done. Daniel used the train blocks. Once he started, he put one block on each of the train pieces.

DSC08539DSC08559

Clara and P.K. sat with one another as they rocked back and forth in the rocking chair. It’s great for our friends when they’re able to take a break from their play and have quiet time by themselves or with a friend. Sometimes friends play so hard that they need a little down time.

DSC08546DSC08547

A few children darted for the jungle gym where they partook in all aspects of the apparatus.

DSC08556DSC08555DSC08558

DSC08570DSC08573

Clara and Daniel stood with one another as they bounced up and down to a song that was playing.

DSC08576DSC08578

As friends were on the jungle gym, P.K. shouted out “tweet, tweet”! He saw many birds outside in the tree next to the house. Children gathered to look at the different birds that were there.

DSC08562DSC08563DSC08564

Daniel started a project where his friend Clara later joined. Daniel took all of the animals and lined them up onto of the shelve. He was adamant about the order that the animals were in.

DSC08568

Clara called out Emma’s name. Where was she? Clara scurried off and found her hiding in the coats! Silly friends!

DSC08581DSC08582

Zoey has found that one of the perks to being able to stand is reaching for toys that are within her reach.

DSC08590DSC08591DSC08596

Daniel enjoyed playing dress up this afternoon. It’s always fun to put on a costume and act out a character or another person!

DSC08593

For breakfast, friends had cinnamon toast squares and banana. AM snack was cucumbers. Lunch consisted of turkey on whole wheat bread, banana, and cucumbers. PM snack was yogurt and graham crackers.

Have a fabulous night!

Good Afternoon!

***Just as a reminder, Wee Wee Friends is closed on Thursday, November 22nd and Friday, November 23rd in observance of Thanksgiving. Thanks!

Friends partook in gross motor activity on the jungle gym multiple times today. Children bounced up and down and slid down the slide.

DSC08421DSC08423DSC08481

We smiled and laughed all day long!

DSC08491DSC08492DSC08493

We headed into the kitchen where friends took turns painting. We painted coffee liners along with pieces of white paper.

DSC08429DSC08433DSC08437

Our friends did a great job at using soft strokes on their paper.

DSC08438DSC08440DSC08442

We were all so proud of our work!

DSC08446DSC08430DSC08447

Daniel sat and built a tower with many blocks. During this time, he was very concentrated and admired his work from afar.

DSC08449

Zoey loves being so mobile throughout the day. She stands and crawls everywhere. When she hears music, she claps her hands together.

DSC08452DSC08456DSC08458

The music was turned on and our friends got on their boogie shoes! It’s a great time for our friends to let loose and dance!

DSC08461DSC08465DSC08462

Clara danced and then went and played peek a boo with Miss Marty!

DSC08464DSC08467DSC08473

Peek-A…Peek-A…BOO!

DSC08471DSC08472

Daniel and Eren climbed on the gross motor apparatus.

DSC08477DSC08476

We patiently waited for our lunch Smile.

DSC08451

For breakfast, children had eggs and apples. AM snack was mixed vegetables. Lunch consisted of homemade macaroni and cheese with whole wheat noodles, apples, and green peas. PM snack was hard boiled eggs and whole wheat crackers.

Have a terrific evening!

WF Monday 11/12 A Morning of Math

029

Just a quick reminder that the Blue Bus will be coming the next two Mondays and then be off for all of December. We will notify you in January of the new registration cycle.

It was a morning filled with math explorations. We played the egg matching game where two halves of a farm animal are hidden under two halves of an egg shell. Our small group of friends who gathered to play mastered the exercise of waiting patiently for their turn and flipping over two egg shells at a time. They also navigated well the disappointment of not making a match at every turn.

At the art table, a shifting group of friends patterned multi colored pegs in a peg board. After the peg board was full, each friend took a turn, pulling one out, identifying the color and reporting their finding to Macy, who tallied the numbers of colored pegs.

Finn requested the plastic chain links. Friends use these materials in a variety of different ways as well. We saw necklaces, pirate ropes, hair braids and  yard sticks. Ada decided she wanted to chain 100 links together. She linked, then counted, linked then counted 3 times over until she had counted all the way to 100.

Good Afternoon.

We  started our Thursday off with jungle gym time where we could exercise and work on our gross motor skills.

DSC08304DSC08305DSC08364

Friends crawled through holes. We went down the slide. We worked hard!

DSC08360DSC08359DSC08367

DSC08315DSC08316

Clara twirled and spun around waving her arms about. She loves to listen to music of all types. It sure does bring a smile to her face Smile.

DSC08320DSC08322

Throughout the morning, friends worked with different animals. We talked about the names of each animal and associating the name with a specific sound (cow-moo).

DSC08307DSC08310DSC08309

P.K. was in the kitchen this morning working with cars. We have a book in the kitchen with car tracks and roads to follow. P.K. took his own cars and followed the roads throughout the book.

DSC08311DSC08312

Clara and Eve worked with their numbers and fine motor skills. There is a toy in the front of the house where friends work with numbers one through four as well as the colors red, yellow, green, and blue. They associate the number of holes in the wooden piece to the wood block.

DSC08327DSC08334DSC08328

Emma made music on the piano. She used one finger at a time to press the various keys.

DSC08330

Children gathered in the garden bed as they ran and threw leaves.

DSC08336DSC08337DSC08339

Besides standing while holding various items, another one of Zoeys favorite activities lately has been untying shoelaces!

DSC08340DSC08351

“Where’s my bucket?”

DSC08346

P.K. rocked his baby to sleep after he wrapped her up in a blanket. He gave her kisses and said, “Night Night!”

DSC08350DSC08352

Eren sat quietly playing with a Mickey toy. Friends enjoyed pushing or pressing the button to make the character pop up.

DSC08355DSC08356

Children sat around our littlest friend to say hi. She was very fascinated with the fan and watched it spin around and around.

DSC08372DSC08380

For breakfast, children had eggs and apples. Lunch consisted of melted cheese on whole wheat tortillas, mixed vegetables, and mixed fruit. PM snack was hard boiled eggs and animal crackers.

Have a wonderful night.

WF Thursday 11/8 Coming in from the Cold

008

Many Wee Friends came in from the cool morning to warm themselves up to an exploration of warm sudsy water and droppers.

007010

005

006017

Others warmed their bodies up under the habitrail with building and balancing, swinging and stretching their gross motor muscles.

001003

011

Others stilled their bodies with a good book.

013

018019

Many of our pre-readers enjoy reading books out loud. We encourage this process by asking them to describe what they see illustrated on the page. We ask them questions about what they have described, encouraging more details to emerge. They are able to draw conclusions about what they see and make predictions about what will happen next. The road to reading starts early!

015

Breakfast: Whole wheat toast with peanut butter and pear slices. Lunch: Melted cheese sandwiches on whole grain flat bread, mixed veggies and pear/orange/apple fruit salad. Snack: Peanut butter and banana bites, with animal crackers.

Have a great day.

Good Afternoon!

We started our morning off with sensory painting. Friends used different shaped sponges along with a multitude of paint colors.

DSC08243DSC08246

Some of us chose to take the sponge and brush it across the paper while others chose to use the stamp approach.

DSC08247DSC08251

At the end of the day, we always love to finish with our fingers and hands Smile.

DSC08253DSC08260

Our finished products!

DSC08263

Daniel sat with Miss Mindy to read a book. He pointed to each of the animals he noticed and bent down to give them kisses.

DSC08256DSC08257

We spent time on the slide this morning. Daniel chose to slide down forward while P.K. looked backwards.

DSC08265DSC08266

P.K. spent time in the log house where he worked with pebbles. He scooped them up and dumped them into a bucket. After a little while, P.K.’s brother Nate and friends joined in on the fun!

DSC08268DSC08273DSC08275

Clara ran as she pushed the grocery cart around the circle path.

DSC08269DSC08274

We make sure that our friends are bundled up because it’s been so cold! Burrr..

DSC08276DSC08277

Zoey practiced standing up while holding onto an object. She got brave a few times and went one handed!

DSC08278DSC08282DSC08283

Friends danced this afternoon when we put on music. We love to let loose and dance around the room. It’s interesting to see the dancing styles of each child Smile.

DSC08279[4]DSC08291

Eren tends to go for the ‘staying in place and bouncing’ dancing style while Clara lets loose and swings her arms around and around.

 DSC08287DSC08280

Friends Zoey and Eren sat together while sharing different toys.

DSC08285DSC08286

Our littlest new friend joined us today! She was very vocal and loved the attention she got from her friends.

DSC08292DSC08294

For breakfast, children had corn bran and pears. AM snack was green peas. Lunch consisted of whole grain rice with pork, banana, and broccoli. PM snack was apples and whole wheat crackers.

Have a great night.

WF Wednesday 11/7 Daily Explorations

Apologies for keeping the camera on the shelf this morning! Friends had a busy and engaged morning singing, creating art, counting, playing a matching game, reading books and rehearsing our evolving reindeer act for “Jingle Bells”. We are taking advantage of every last sunshiny morning as the weather gradually gets colder.
