Hello!

First things first… Lets all wish Tami a very Happy Birthday 🙂

Our friends started off the day by having a sensorial experience using pink and purple paint. Chloe chose to use her fingers to paint while others like Elizabeth and Jada used sponges. Elizabeth loved the way the paint felt on her hands so much that she started jumping up and down! P.K. also joined in on the fun! He used the sponge to paint with his pink paint. He worked on his hand coordination by pushing the sponge on the paper and dipping the sponge in the bowl to get more paint.

The sensory tub was filled with ice cubes along with salt to see what effect the salt would have on the ice cubes. Our friends enjoyed picking up the ice and feeling it slip in their hands. Others decided to fill up orange cups and practice dumping the cubes into the bin. Marina decided to use a ladle and spatula to pick up the ice and transfer it to a different location within the bin.

Good Afternoon!

While inside this morning, our friends worked with twirlers and sand paper blocks. We made our own music while listening to recorded music. Some of the kids chose to dance around while others chose to sit and make music. Marina twirled the green streamer around in different directions. Chloe liked standing up and banging her sand paper blocks together. She also liked the quiet sound that the sand paper made when you rubbed the blocks together.

While our friends were dancing and making music, a few friends decided to get the pegs out and build different structures. Jada and Ozzie liked to stack them as high as they could while Lea liked putting the pegs into the different foam animals that were available. Children were using their fine motor skills to make sure that the pegs were put into the foam correctly.

Hello!

We started our day here at WWF by working with shaped tiles in the light table. Our friends decided to put them in buckets and sort them. Lea took a cup and worked on dumping and pouring the tiles. Ozzie also worked with the tiles. He decided to look at the different colors of each tile and call them aloud. 001

003

Some friends then chose to work with play-dough and straws to make different creations. Jada and Max chose to make a play-dough balls and decided to see how many straws they could fit into the play-dough.

006

007

008

009

Ellie wanted to read books so along with a few friends, they listened to a book about different colors. We pointed out different colors around the room and the items of each color. For example, Ellie pointed to the cup on the table and said ‘blue’. She then associated the color blue to the items in the book.

005

Once outside on this gorgeous day, our friends started playing right away. It was a great morning for our friends to work on their gross motor skills. Our friends have been using their legs more when riding tricycles and bikes along with running with their friends! Lea, Jada, and Chloe were big fans of the slide. Friends would slide down together at the same time. A few friends tried to see how fast or slow they could go down the slide.

010

012

016

P.K. was joined with his big brother Nate and they worked together in the sand to dig holes with their shovels. Olivia, Elizabeth, Jada, and Ozzie decided to ride tricycles, bicycles, and cars together. They would go down the hill one after the other and end up at the bottom of the hill together! They did this for a while! They worked well together to make sure that no one crashed into anything :)!

Good Afternoon!

We started our day here at WWF with a sensory activity. First, a group of friends started painting on a white piece of paper using their hands as well as a textured object. That then lead to painting on the light table using paint and shaving cream. Our friends were painting with different colors including green, red, and silver where they often mixed them together. Lea used the textured object to make interesting designs with the paint while others like Chloe and Elizabeth decided to use their hands! Our friends made sure to get their hands all clean! Chloe loved washing her hands with soap and water in the sink.

After sensory time, our friends came into the living room to do various activities such as read books and have bonding time with their friends and teachers. Aiden is using his arms to push himself up! He sure is getting strong! Ozzie had a great time reading books with Miss Marty! P.K. spent some time in the kitchen where he sorted the straws into a carton divider. He loved looking at the different colors and seeing if the straws fit in the carton. Marina sat and read books while turning the pages one at a time and talking about the pictures that she saw!

Ozzie started a train track and others soon joined the fun! He made the track with the help of a few of his friends. The group then put trains together to make a long train that even had a caboose! Our friends shared by taking turns guiding the train around the track. Ozzie and Jada were sharing the train and when the train would break, Jada was of great assistance! There was a lot of sharing and communication going on about where the train should go. It was great to see them helping one another! 🙂 🙂

Hello!

Our friends started their day today with different activities that they enjoyed. Jada is still in the process of perfecting her diapering skills. P.K spent some quality time with Ms. Tami! He loves when she comes over to visit with him.

003

006

007

008

Jada and Ozzie used their fine motor skills to stack the plastic pins to make tall towers! As they were stacking the pins, they found out that once they got to a certain point the tower fell over. They found this intriging and tried it over and over again.

023

024

Marina used her gross motor skills while climbing on the jungle gym. She crawled underneath it as well as on top. She loved going down the slide and falling onto the mats at the end.

026

028

In the kitchen, a few of our friends gathered to play with the blue rice as well as the white and red tinsel. While these two different sensory activities were going in the kitchen, children used their sensorial actions to manipulate the rice and the tinsel. While playing with the tinsel, Lea and Elizabeth played pretend by using the tinsel as hair. They also used a twisting motion with their arms using the cardboard cylinders. They also had a great time stuffing the tinsel into the cylinders.

Good Afternoon!

Hope everyone has been able to enjoy some warmth and sunshine today!

Here at WWF, we started off our day by having the children participate in an open play time where they could choose the activity that they wanted to do. Like Jada, some chose to work with baby dolls. Jada sure is getting good at putting a diaper on the baby! Some children listened to stories in the living room while others chose to work with letters. Marina and Clara worked with the colorful, plastic letters and shared them with one another.

012

015

021

018

Children started to navigate towards the kitchen where they started playing with the blue rice that was introduced to us yesterday. A divider was added which made it interesting for the kids because they had to figure out what hole they wanted to get the rice from. They found out it was tricky maneuvering their spoons and utensils! P.K. loved to use his ladle to move the rice from one place to another.

022

While our friends were playing with the rice, Lea and Jada decided to paint using pink and silver paint. They carefully used their paint brush to make precise strokes and made sure not to mix the paint together. The silver paint looked beautiful on the pink paper. P.K. dove into the paint as well! Not only did he paint the paper but he also thought outside the box and the floor got a makeover! He had a great time working with the paint! Our friends got a chance to use the carton divider to sort and separate markers. Sloane’s idea was trying to get a marker in every opening possible!

Good Afternoon!

We’re giving Elizabeth our ‘sunglass kid’ award today 🙂

The WWF house started off the morning with a sensory activity. Our hands were blue but the kids spirits were high! Thanks to our friends next door, we were able to manipulate rice that was died blue. Kids sifted, poured, and measured the rice along with just finding out how it felt on their hands. There was great interaction happening while the kids were in discovery mode. Our friends talked to each other about what they were finding out. 001

008

014

Chloe loved using the ladle to pour the rice into different areas of the bin while Olivia chose to use a bowl for the rice. Our friends were sharing their utensils with one another and making sure that all of their friends had something to discover with. Jada was interested in looking at each grain of rice individually and pointing out characteristics such as ‘it’s small’. After some discovery time, our friends began to find out that if they moved the rice enough, they could see the light from the light table. They found this extremely interesting and loved ‘looking for the light’!

015

023

019

028

031

Sloane decided to hold a cup in one hand and the ladle in the other hand and pour the rice back and forth. Her measuring skills are top notch!

039

040

036

After discovering different characteristics about the blue rice, Lea decided to color. She was very precise as to how to color with her markers. She got down close to the paper and really focused her attention on the stroke that she was on.

037

038

After sensory time in the kitchen, our friends ventured outside! From what we hear, the weather is supposed to be getting more ‘spring’ like! Fingers are crossed! P.K. decided to use his gross motor skills by walking and finding a way to get up the stairs. Marina loves to venture out and explore the back yard! She had a great time swinging with her new friend Chloe as well as riding different tri-cycles.

Good Afternoon!

We started our morning here at WWF by having our friends construct a marker and crayon mural where the kids could lay or sit on the floor and pick an area of the paper where they could color whatever they wanted. Some chose to make an object or just use different colors to make a design. Elizabeth chose to make a snowman using markers. She made precise circles and others followed by making their own snowman. Lea chose to take different colors to make a piece of art where the colors blended together. When Ozzie was finished with his drawing, he chose to go and get different shapes and make up a game with those shapes on top of his artwork! The finished product was astounding!

Music time started by Ms. Paulina playing the guitar! Ellie loved following the beat lead while playing the drums. Everyone played ‘go to sleep’ with the colored scarves. Children would cover up their friends so they could go night night. We even played peak-a-boo with them! P.K. loves getting wrapped up in the scarves and playing peak-a-boo with his friends. Lea gently covered up her friends Ozzie and Elizabeth so they could go to sleep.
