WF Friday 3/20 What Does Friendship Look Like?

036

In our Wee Friend Early Childhood environment, the face of friendship is as varied as our friends themselves! We see how the journey of making friends offers the cultivation of comfort, language, a collaborative spirit and FUN! Here are some of the ways we see friendships forming and being celebrated at Wee Friends.

A good book is a GOOD friend!

009

A reunion.

019

017

025

027

Lovie comfort.

030

First name introductions.

031

Bonding in the loft.

032

Collaborating. Discussing. Listening. Flexing, explaining and executing vision.

WF Wednesday 3/18 Library Books

032

Jessica has been bringing in stacks of books from the library. When one pile has been read, re-read and discussed, she returns the books and comes in with a new delicious, juicy stack to read. When friends find out she has a new stack, they go nuts. “Read the library book!” we hear. This morning, with a new stack of library books within their line of vision, most of our Wee Friends sat for 30+minutes to listen to Jessica read book after book.

033

Why do kids love to be read to out loud? What are the benefits of reading aloud to kids of all ages? Click onto the links below for quick reads about this very important process for our Wee Friends! And have a great day.-Laurie

This morning, we unfortunately had to bundle up way more than we did yesterday. Still, the sun was out which made for a decent outside experience!

IMG_5771IMG_5775

With both sites being outside on a regular basis, we’re revisiting procedures that we follow outside, such as waiting for all of the bikes to be taken out of the garage before we grab one!

While playing with dress up clothes this afternoon, Lucy let teachers know, “Hat on” and “Hat off,” respectively!

Hope everyone had a terrific weekend!

Today, we wished Miss Marty a very happy (41st) birthday!—says she doesn’t feel a day over 21! Smile

Friends requested music to start off their morning so different instruments were made available.

IMG_5662IMG_5663IMG_5666

We headed outside on this unbelievably beautiful day. We were EXTREMELY excited to see the bikes out. All five of our friends dashed to get a bike. This morning, we started off with hats and coats. This afternoon, we just put on our shoes and were out the door!

IMG_5693IMG_5696

Friends were so happy to be able to explore the backyard again. With almost all of the snow melted, we’re able to navigate the backyard much better.

IMG_5714IMG_5712

David, Anna, and Annabelle enjoyed looking at books and playing with the trains this afternoon while their tired friends were napping. The outside sure did make our toddlers sleepy!
