IMPORTANT: Siblings Expectations

Dear Parents,

We would like to communicate some important changes for the beginning of our day and the end of our day transition times. More than any time in the past, we have a large number of older school age siblings entering into both classrooms and WF preschool siblings entering into the WWF classroom.

We have found that the addition of these siblings multiple times each day is disruptive to the peaceful environment that we are trying to cultivate for ALL of the children.

Additionally, we need to note that when your child’s classroom is outside during pick-up times, our indoor classroom is closed (including the habitrail and all interest areas.) AT NO TIMES ARE WF/WWF CHILDREN OR THEIR SIBLINGS ALLOWED TO BE UNSUPERVISED INDOORS WHILE THE GROUP IS OUTDOORS.

We are setting some sibling guidelines that we anticipate will alleviate this.

1. If you are entering our environment with a sibling, please:

a. Keep them by your side in our INSIDE and OUTSIDE environments.

OR

b. Inside WF they can choose to use the bench in the front porch.

c. Inside WWF they can choose the brown chairs in the WWF housekeeping area.

d. Outside, they may choose the deck or a bench.

2. Please do not leave preschool age or younger in the car unsupervised. Please text us or just let us know while you are at the door (where you can see your sibling) and the teaching staff will be happy to ready your child while you are watching at the door.

3. If you have children in both classrooms, we will be happy to let the second classroom know to have your child ready to go for you.

To be clear, we are asking that older siblings not enter into indoor or outdoor play because they do not know our classroom expectations and they create a frenzy of activity during this critical transition time. This will enable our teachers to prepare our WF/WWF’s for a peaceful beginning or end to their day. I appreciate everyone’s cooperation in this.

I am open to other suggestions that you may have to make this transition time smooth for you!

Thanks,

Tami
