Eren and his new Wee Bud were the first friends to arrive today. We knew exactly what to do to support their current interest.

Out came the vinyl road map and trucks. Out came Truck Bliss. Later, we engaged other friends with a science experiment asking the question: Which car will go down the ramp faster? The car on the high ramp or the low ramp? We read Duck in the Truck (Jez Alborough)and Where’s My T-R-U-C-K (Karen Beaumont and the inspired illustrator, David Catrow)for our older, stringing together letter sounds, peeps.
Jessica continued the letter exploration at the piano, teaching friends which letters lay across the keyboard. And what sounds those letters make. A-B-C-D-E-F….G?
In another part of the classroom, a different transportation vehicle was set in motion. S-H-I-P. We added an ocean. “But if it’s green it’s a swamp” Owen clarified. Stormy and then calm swamp music played as friends worked together.
Elliott’s Nana Vida came and weeded our garden. G-R-A-T-I-T-U-D-E. We love when Elliott’s former first grade teacher Nana comes to visit us. So does Elliott.
