Since the rain has kept us indoors today, the habitrail area has gotten A LOT of use. Older friends worked together to build a unique balance beam. Children of all ages gathered to try it out!
Later, the balance beam was used as building ground for a car ramp. Wood blocks were set up to create a ramp with a little bit of a slope. Sometimes the cars needed an extra push. This work is a great example of play-based learning—the boys were naturally experimenting with properties of balance and physics through cars and blocks!
The Easter sensory bin was also part of our day. The baskets, purple fuzz, chicks and eggs continue to be a popular activity, even though the holiday has passed.
Wee Sprouts: Cucumbers. Breakfast: Hot wheat cereal and apple bananas (a unique fruit brought to us from the Purple Porch—interesting to say the least…). Lunch: Egg roll-ups made from fresh farm eggs and whole wheat flatbread, bok choy salad, and bananas/oranges. Snack: Homemade popcorn with butter and apples.
