Good Afternoon!

In pre-k/k group, we read a story titled, ‘I am Planet Earth’. Throughout the story, we learned about things that make up our planet such as mountains, cities, towns, animals, and people just to name a few! After we finished reading the story, we observed both a map and a globe. We started a list of things we saw on each or things we didn’t see!

Lucy transferred this line of thinking onto her journal. She missed the globe activity earlier in the day so she wanted to draw her own globe!

Social Studies: K.3.2 Identify maps and globes as ways of representing Earth and understand differences between a map/globe.

An art activity was made available this morning. First, we talked about the globe in front of us as well as different pictures of the Earth that we were able to look at. We used blue and green paint to represent land and water. Franklin used his paint brush tip to replicate water!

The welcome activity focused on sorting puff balls based on size. Grady and Ruby took tongs and sorted the puff balls into two different jars: big and small.
