Good Afternoon!
Evie and Mack took several illustrations from one of our favorite stories, ‘The Little Mouse, the Red Ripe Strawberry, and the Big Hungry Bear’ and put them in order for their kindergarten sign in. First, we read all of the authors words then Mack and Evie sorted them by the order in which they happened in the story.
K.1.4: Identify and order events that take place in a sequence.
In K/PREK1 group, we read a book from our MACK collection titled ‘The Sandwich Swap’. It’s a great story that focuses on friendship and communicating when needed. It fit perfectly with our MACK for the week:
Children will learn to define friendship and to recognize the friendships they have with their peers.
In PREK2 group, children read ‘If You Give A Pig A Pancake’. They took specific events that occurred in the story and placed them in order.
Children explored the welcome activity this morning at the circle table. Various lines were drawn on paper and gems were made available. Without given any instructions, children started placing the gems along the different lines!
Thankfully, the rain held off for the most part today so we were able to get our regular outside time in the morning and afternoon!
