Evie and Mack matched coins to the coin name for their sign in. They drew lines to the matches and used their knowledge of letter sounds to identify the coin name.
Social Studies: K.4.1 Explain that people work to earn money to buy the things they want. Introduce money names and values.
In K/PREK1 group, we looked at real coins and a real one dollar bill. On each piece of money, we talked about the characteristics of the coins, specifically the year that it was made! Most of the coins were made in the late 1990’s, which they thought was pretty funny that coins could be that old! We also talked about the amount that each coin was worth.

Children played a coin game in PREK2 group where they had to add coins to the piggy bank.
We got some quality outside time this morning before it got too hot. The smiles on our faces tell it all!
Breakfast– Whole grain oatmeal with cinnamon and banana.
Lunch– Farm fresh scrambled eggs with whole wheat bread, fresh cantaloupe/oranges, and fresh cucumber/carrots.
PM snack– Blue corn chips and hummus.
Wee Sprout– Fresh cucumber/carrots/peppers.
