Good Afternoon!
Mack and Daniel sat down to play a math game that uses dice. Each player has wooden pegs ranging from 1 to 10. They roll two dice and depending on the pegs they have showing, they’ll add or subtract the two dice so that they can put a peg down. For examples, Mack rolled a 5 and a 2. He already had the number 7 down so he decided to subtract the two numbers. He figured out that the answer was 3 so he put the 3 peg down. Evie sat down later to explore the game with Mack!
Children sat at the art table and explored making art using markers, crayons, and our favorite as of late: paint dotters!
There are an assortment of colorful paint dotters, almost mimicking the colors of the rainbow. Without direction, most children are drawn to using the dotters is a color specific way—making a whole line of red dots, followed by a line of oranges dots, and so on.
Other children use the dotters in a random fashion, making colorful dots all over the page and in no specific order. The children are using the exact same tools but the results are drastically different and unique.
We were able to get outside this morning before it started raining! Some of us even chose to wear a sweater—a big change from the last couple of days!
Breakfast– Whole grain oatmeal with cinnamon and fresh pears.
Lunch– Farm fresh scrambled eggs with whole wheat tortilla, fresh honeydew melon/oranges, and fresh snap peas/cucumber/cherry tomatoes.
