Good Afternoon!

Rowan took Miss Nina around this morning to look for treasure (aka small pebbles, pieces of our towels, fuzz, string). When she found enough treasure, she went to the art table and drew a map of the classroom environment. She marked on the map where she found treasure and then walked around the classroom, identifying the spaces on the map where treasure was found! What an authentic learning experience involving maps and documentation!

We are loving our new blocks in our outdoor environment. Daniel was a little frustrated this morning as he was putting the new trucks down the ramp, stating, “they’re not going down the ramp fast enough!”

He thought about it and after he was given a few suggestions, he went and grabbed a green bucket to so that the ramp could lean on the lip of the bucket. He tried out his problem solving technique and eventually yelped, “It makes it go faster!”

Several friends took chalk and used it on the cement and on the chalkboard this morning! Letters could be seen on the chalkboard as well as a few words! A teacher was standing nearby just in case there were any questions regarding letters or letter formation.
