Good Afternoon!

Kindergarteners got to choose one book from a small collection of books to work with for their sign in. They chose either The Gruffalo, Duck in the Truck, or Rainbow Fish. After they chose a book, they wrote down several characters in the story along with the setting and an event. A kindergartner enjoyed working with the book ‘Rainbow Fish’ so much that he asked to read it for K/PREK1 group.

K.RL.2.3: Identify important elements of the text (e.g. characters, settings, or events).

A still life art opportunity started off our morning at the art table! Miss Kim placed a gorgeous bouquet of flowers on the lazy susan. Children used oil pastels to draw the bouquet as well as talk about the colors they saw. They even helped research the flowers that were in the bouquet.

When we went outside, children quickly scattered throughout the yard. Some friends chose to ride the tricycles while others headed toward the sandbox or use the baby dolls in their play. Throughout the morning it warmed up but there’s been a nice fall crisp feeling to our morning outdoor experiences!
