Good Afternoon,
What a surprisingly beautiful day it has been! We took full advantage of the sunshine by getting lots of toys outside.
Yesterday we made some space playdough. We mixed quite a few colors together to try and achieve a black color. For stars, we used silver glitter. This morning we got to try out the playdough. We added some nocturnal animals to their trays to discuss how some animals are awake at night. We also included books about space and night creatures for them to explore. Rowan discovered that some stars are shaped into constellations. Hannah found a picture of all the planets that orbit the sun. She used her playdough to make the planet Saturn.
Several friends worked together today to create a table wide city complete with popsicle stick roads and block train stations, marinas, airports, fire stations and a few buildings that housed everything: vehicles, aircraft and miraculously even ships.
In our sensory bin today we created a desert habitat for our lizards. We used sticks, logs and rocks to create dens for them to live in. We were reminded that desert animals usually hide during the day under the ground to stay cool and then come out at night. A few friends asked if they could have some acorns for pretend food. The used the ice cream scoop as a lizard feeder!
