Happy Tuesday!
This week, we’re focusing on globes and maps so we read a section from one of our favorite books: Here and There! We read about playing outdoors and how it looks differently in each country. When we talked about a specific country, we located it on the map of the world. We found out that there’s approximately 200 countries in the world!
Social Studies: K.3.2 Identify maps and globes as ways of representing Earth and understand differences between a map and globe.
We started a new art project or our focal wall in the reading area! Miss Linsey took a group of three children out at a time to the backyard to find a few leaves to do leaf prints. It’ll be a project that’ll take us a few days since it’s a multi-step project. We can’t wait to get new art into that space.
Thankfully it wasn’t too terribly out outside this morning so we were able to take advantage of the shade of our lovely tree. The art table was busy with children drawing pictures while others worked with rocks and water in various metal trays. We love working with water when it’s hot out!
Breakfast: Whole grain cheerios with fresh apples.
Lunch: Peanut butter on whole wheat tortillas, co-jack cheese slices, fresh green beans/cucumbers, and bananas/fresh strawberries
Snack: Whole wheat bagel with cream cheese.
Wee Sprouts: Fresh green beans and carrots.
Have a great night!
