Happy Monday!
William was determined to build the tallest marble run this morning! He built it so high that he ran into a problem…how to get the marble in. He tried bending the run in order to put the marble inside but that idea proved unsuccessful. He finally chose to remove just enough of the tube so the marble run was still functional but at maximum height. It was a great lesson in the constrains of engineering projects and how to balance form and function!
Friends in the art center created abstract art work using colored paper, glue, sequins and foam shapes, numbers and letters. Some chose the mixed media rout using crayons and markers first, then adding the glued pieces on top. As usual there was a great conversation about the art work being made at the table and sharing of ideas!
Outside We got some exercise on the balance bikes and tricycles!
We got creative at the outdoor art center too! Imogen had the interesting idea of designing a house just for rolly- polly bugs on paper and then putting real rolly-polly bugs that she had found into the house. This is the kind of project that can only be done in an outdoor art center
