WF 06/21/2023 Clay Day!

Good afternoon everyone!  We had a wonderful day of clay!  We explored many different aspects of clay and what we can do with it.

This morning we explored terracotta clay at the outdoor art center.  We learned that we could spray our clay with water and choose how soft we wanted it to be…which turned out to be very soft for most of us since we enjoyed spraying the clay so much!  We noticed how the clay got a very slippery layer as we added water and we learned this is called slip.  We made a variety of creations including a sting ray, a chicken, a dinosaur nest with eggs, a cake and a snow man.

We also used our slip (clay mixed with water) to do a little stone painting project which was engaging for both Wee Friends and Wee wee Friends!

We stayed busy indoors as well with art projects and imaginative play!
