Happy Wednesday!

Early this morning one of our curious Wee Friends requested that we do an investigation project around fossil bones.  Though we didn’t have any on hand at the moment, we did have access to some more recent bones for observation.  We investigated a horse jaw bone and a pronghorn skull.  The teeth were of special interest to everyone.  We got to see how the teeth fit into the skull, which was quite intriguing.  We did have some fossilized sharks teeth which everyone was interested in looking at with a magnifying glass.

In our sensory bin this morning we enjoyed some more traditional holiday themed activities:) We used magnets to search for and collect jingle bells hidden in the bin.

There was quite a gathering in the reading area today.  As Ms. Mindy read, more and more friends slowly trickled in to join.  Soon it was a full house!

PREK2:  Today during group we enjoyed “hot chocolate” breathing exercises as we used our imaginations to pretend we were drinking hot chocolate.  We read the story “Merry Christmas Big Hungry Bear”.  At the end of the story we thought about who we might want to give a present to.  Though many of us chose family members, several of us preferred to give gifts to bears, or other wild animals:)
