Good Afternoon!

This morning at our welcome activity, we set out magnetic letters with trays to arrange them on.  We allowed the kids to explore.  Everyone was able to arrange the letters according to their level of development.  Some simply put the letters on the tray, others put them in alphabetical order.  Some enjoyed sorting and matching uppercase letters with the lowercase counterpart!

Last week there were a few friends who were interested in different ways to use tape.  We experimented with making tape paintings and several others wanted to try.  I mentioned this morning that we could make some tape paintings if there was anyone still interested and it turned out the majority of the class was!  They laid out designs with the tape, selected colors to paint with, then removed the tape to reveal the images.  Some friends made stipes, others made an X.  Adrian said he liked math so he wanted to make a + sign. Katherine created color blocks.  Nesta made an interesting scene filled with symmetry!

PREK2: We read the story “Good People Everywhere” in group today.  After the story we recalled something that people did in the story to help, or something that we remembered people doing to help in our own experience. 

Breakfast– Cheerios with fresh oranges.

Lunch– Peanut butter sandwiches on whole wheat flatbread/bread, fresh pineapple/apple, and fresh pepper/carrot/cucumber.

PM snack– whole wheat bagels with cream cheese

Wee Sprout– Fresh pepper/cucumber/carrot.
