Good Afternoon!
We continued to talk about jobs during our PREK1 sign in activity this morning. Children had to come up with a job that adults can do as well as a tool that they would need to do that job. A few friends did this in reverse, sharing “a whistle!” and then having to backtrack to figure out what job would need a whistle.
Social Studies: K.4.2 Identify and describe different kinds of jobs that people do and the tools they use.
We enjoyed so much time outdoors today! We went out very early since we thought it was going to rain. The rain ended up holding off and the kids were enjoying themselves so much that we just stayed out. Being outside all morning allowed some very elaborate games to develop. A few older friends started building a fort in the log area. More and more friends began to join in as the game progressed into a monster game. One friends was the monster and the others were trying to figure out how to keep the monster away from the fort. They group finally landed on the idea to make a human chain holding hands and then wrap it around the monster until he was trapped in a circle. Next as a coordinated effort, they moved the circle together across the playground with the monster inside. The monster found it hysterical!
