Good Afternoon!

This morning in the art center, we made Olympic torches out of paper.  Our older friends learned how to make them first,  and then taught our younger friends.  After showing a younger friend how to make the torch, an older friend stuck by to help and answer questions.  Our big kids made great teachers!  Teaching others is the best way to learn.  The younger kids love working with an older friend as well and learning from them!

This afternoon, our second Olympic event of the week took place: the long jump! Our older friends showed their younger peers how to bend their knees and jump! Most of our jumps turned into cute bunny hops or energetic skips! We love moving our body whenever possible!

As William played with clay outside today he was watched by a young admirer who was enamored with his ceramics skills!  Having the multiage aspect of our program has mutual developmental benefits!  We try to foster the “older kids teaching the younger kids” dynamic when ever possible!
