Good Afternoon!

There has been continued interest in building with recycled materials as you probably know by now Winking smile.  We had a bunch of boxes that were all the same, so we decided to make a group project out of it.  We used the boxes to make a “trailer”.  We took time to decorate our trailer in the art center.  When we finished, we brought the trailers to the building rug to test them out.  We used rubber bands to attach the trailers to toy cars.  We filled them with materials like sticks, pipes and pinecones. Then, we tried pulling them around the building rug.  It turned into a long morning of imaginative play.  Some friends returned to the art center to make little people to drive the cars or to make modifications to their trailers.  Arthur decided he wanted his creation to become a boat that was pulled on a trailer.  He returned to the art center to add seats.  There was so much learning happening!  There was creative problem solving, critical thinking, social emotional learning, fine motor, etc..  It was wonderful to watch it all unfold!

PREK2: Today we read the story “Hey Little Ant”.  After the story, we thought about things that were very small.  We made a class list of “things that are smaller than us”.
