Happy Monday!
We kicked off our week by talking about how smaller shapes can make larger shapes! Our PREK1 friends came up to the sign in board where they looked at a new shape that was formed by using two squares. Children immediately identified the new shape as a rectangle.
K.G.4: Compose simple geometric shapes to form larger shapes (e.g. create a rectangle composed of two triangles).
This morning, kids worked on a welcome activity using shapes to create letters. Friends practiced using small shapes to make larger shapes, matching/identifying shapes and identifying letters. Many kids chose the first letter of their name to fill in with the pattern blocks.
We hope you enjoy a few more pictures from out day!
PREK2: During group time we looked for our name on the board. When we found our name, we sorted the markers until we found the same color as our name. Next we circled our name with the same color marker.
