Good Afternoon!

We continued to grow our interest in writing among our older friends.  We had our usual group of author/illustrators pumping out new books at the art center.  Later, a new interest popped up in asking questions of classmates, then recording responses.  Several kids went around the classroom with clip boards to record the likes and dislikes of our class.  We had lots of interesting topics.  We had one friend who asked about everyone’s favorite window shape.  Another friend asked about everyone’s favorite construction vehicle.  One asked about everyone’s favorite sea creature even giving suggestions if anyone struggled.  One suggestion she gave was a “barracuda” to someone who wasn’t sure.  Just learning to write letters, one friend chose to drawing pictures of the responses.  We love to create conditions for kids to problem solve with their creativity and we are always proud to see students using that skill!   

We really enjoyed using musical instruments and dancing to music this morning!

PREK2: In group today we read the story “Triangle”.  After the story we worked on sorting shapes based on their attributes.  We took one shape from the bowl and decided if it was a triangle or circle, and if the shape was small or large.  We put our shape up on the board.

Breakfast: Overnight oatmeal with fresh pineapple.

Lunch: Farm fresh scrambled eggs and whole wheat tortilla with fresh watermelon/pineapple and fresh tomatoes/cucumbers/green peppers.

PM Snack: Hummus with tortilla chips.

Wee Sprouts: Fresh bell peppers/cucumbers.
