Happy Friday!
We ended our week by talking about our favorite books for our PREK1 sign in activity. One of our friends shared that her favorite books are Magic Treehouse books while Hannah shared that her favorite book is a nonfiction book called ‘Sh’ma’ which is a Jewish prayer that they read before bedtime. As we shared our favorite book, we categorized it into the correct text genre. I enjoyed hearing all of the unique and interesting books that children read at home as well as their favorite books to read at school!
K.RL.3.1: Recognize familiar narrative text genres (e.g. fiction, nonfiction, fairytales, poems).
A color mixing activity took place at the art table this morning. Three trays were made available with different combinations of colors. Each tray made a different secondary color. Kids loved using the eye droppers to slowly but surely combine two primary colors to make a secondary color!
Children asked for musical instruments for the second day in a row. We listened to calming music while exploring various instruments. We continued to favor the triangle as Arthur shared, “It just sounds so pretty!”.
Breakfast– Brown rice cakes with cream cheese and fresh apples.
Lunch– Ham on whole wheat bread/tortilla, fresh pineapple/banana, and fresh pepper/carrots.
PM snack– Goldfish and cheddar block cheese.
Wee Sprout– Fresh carrot/pepper.
Have a wondering weekend!
