Good Afternoon!
PREK1 friends came to the sign in board throughout the day where we worked with addition and subtraction equations. Children had to find the index card with their name on it and identify their equation. We worked with manipulatives to solve the equation. They located the total on the board and taped their equation under the correct total.
K.CA.1-2: Solve real-world problems, objects, or drawings that involve addition and subtraction within 10. Demonstrate the equation (e.g 5=3+2 and 5=4+1).
This morning we enjoyed a sand/loose parts welcome activity to get our imaginations flowing. Kids chose from stones, leaves and a wide variety of wooden pieces to figure out what to build. Several kids built “hide-outs” for animals. They did a great job sharing information with one another about how best to build with the pieces in the sand!
At the art center we offered a snow painting project as several friends have been thinking about winter activities and holidays.
