Good Afternoon!
Our PREK1 sign in focused not only on coins but continuing patterns. Children came to the sign in board where they identified an AABAAB pattern using pennies and quarters. They wrote their name under what coin came next in the pattern.
There has been a lot of puzzle interest in our classroom lately. Several kids have been wanting to challenge themselves with more difficult puzzles. Puzzles are a wonderful activity for the brain and body. They help to build fine motor skills, problem solving skills, memory and spatial awareness. Puzzles help kids lengthen attention span and build focused attention. Kids are required to practice patience as they work, then build self esteem as they enjoy the fruits of their labor. We are happy to see this interest growing in our kids!
