Happy Friday!
It has turned into a whole week of learning about storms in our child lead curriculum. This morning we continued full steam ahead with our child lead storm interest. A friend came in asking if we could make a hurricane today! We decided to create the very large cloud that forms in a hurricane. We talked about how it rotates the same way a tornado does, except it is very large. We also learned the new word “Coriolis Effect”. Older friends learned that this means in our hemisphere, the hurricane will turn counter clockwise. We tried spinning our hurricane cloud counterclockwise on our model. One friend shared that he had learned about the storm on Jupiter that looked like this and has been going on for one hundred years.
We hope you enjoy a few more pictures from our day!
