Good afternoon!
This morning, one of our older friends shared how much she loved a trip to the museum. We decided as a group that it would be fun to create our own museum at the round table. Kids organized natural objects on trays that were “related” in some way. Next, we used sticky notes to label each item. Some kids loved labeling and decided to take it to the next level, like one friend labeled every color of agates in the “geology” collection:) There were many questions about the objects which lead to more questions as kids learned. We talked about exoskeletons, what a crystal is, listed descriptive words for objects, noticed repeating patterns and opposites. One friend even gave a “museum tour” to interested friends, explaining what everything was! The project was a great learning experience in the area of science and language arts while kids had a great time working as a team to create it!
