Good Afternoon!

Yesterday in our PREK1 group, we read ‘Caps For Sale’ which is one of our favorite stories. We love when the peddler notices that all of his caps are up in the tree..on the monkeys heads! It always elicits a ton of laughs. Today, we used the book we read yesterday to see if we were able to recall an important aspect of the book: the color and order of the peddlers hats. Children came up to the board where they identified the hat that was on the very top of the peddlers head which was red! A few kids who are starting to read were able to decipher which word said ‘red’ by sounding it out.

Our welcome activity was very popular this morning! Trays were made available for kids to experiment with colored water and snow. Children used a variety of tools to mix the warm water and snow such as spoons, tongs, and squeeze bottles. As children added the warm water to the snow, they watched as the snow melted. When all of the snow was melted, they had more water to work with!
