Good Afternoon!

Miss Annastecia set up a fine motor activity at the island this morning that ended up being a big hit! Several children came to the island to explore the bead activity. Using playdough as a base, friends took beads and placed them onto the wooden sticks.

A few friends chose to implement a pattern on their wooden stick while others chose to keep it strictly based on color, placing all red beads on one stick, all green beads on another stick. and so on.

We tackled the fine motor inside so we decided to focus on the gross motor when we headed outside! The scooters were brought out and friends jumped at the chance to use a scooter. At first, children rode them around the circle path but a few friends quickly decided to challenge themselves by going down the bike hill!

Good afternoon. Wow,what a super windy day!

REMINDER: TOMORROW IS JAMMIE DAY. IF YOU HAVE ANY FESTIVE CHRISTMAS JAMMIES, WE WOULD LOVE TO SEE THEM.

Miss Tami was able to corral yet another fishy for our classroom tank. Last time we came up with a couple different names and chose, Orangie. Well, this time we decided to take the name idea from on of our two year old’s from last time around. We want to welcome Hey Diddle Diddle to our classroom. Smile He has a very large tail that is so neat to see swishing around in the water.

Upon welcoming Miss Bekah back, we loved playing catch with the many different sized and textured balls with her. We can enhance our hand-eye coordination, sensory and color recognition skills all while having fun throwing our balls. We also learn to throw our balls gently to Miss Bekah so she or any of our friends don’t get hit by a flying ball.

We engaged in playdoh today for a fun sensory activity! We rolled, pounded, cut and smooshed our playdoh. We even used playdoh tools to enhance our creativity. Emma and Arthur even enjoyed the experience. Smile

Hello!

We switched out a few activities in the science area and one of our new favorites is the yoga figurines! Children have been asking about the poses, what they’re called, and attempting to do them!

DSCN6906DSCN6935

The art table was buzzing with creativity. Some friends were choosing to draw detailed creatures using their imagination while others were asking for help spelling words. The art table has very few rules so that children have the space and opportunity to create freely!

DSCN6948DSCN6929

A few friends chose calmer activities throughout the morning like puzzles and reading in the reading area.

DSCN6969DSCN6974

One of the best parts of our day was being able to go outside and allowing the sun to shine on our face. A nice day meant the balance bikes were made available as well as baby dolls (two of our favorites!).

Good Afternoon.

Today two friends loved looking at our fish, Orangie!Smile

A two year old friend asked for the song, “Let it Go.”  So we had an Anna and Elsa dance party. That then led into a full fledged dance party with many different songs added to our dancing delights.

The sensory table is always fun for us to explore. We enjoy scooping, pouring and measuring how much of the mixture we can get into our cups without it falling out and onto the floor.

Happy Friday!

Our hands were busy today! The building rug was full as usual. Children created all sorts of things with their two favorite building materials: magnatiles and trio blocks.

The circle table was full of children exploring various types of puzzles.

Evie and Daniel each asked to do the pattern blocks which is a challenging puzzle activity. There are tons of cards to choose from that have different puzzles. The pattern blocks require precision because the blocks need to be placed into the wooden square a specific way. They each were able to complete multiple puzzles!

DSCN6772DSCN6771DSCN6778DSCN6793

Daniel and Bo explored the yoga figurines that were placed in the science area. They each chose their favorite pose and tested out their flexibility and balance by doing that pose!

DSCN6794

We were ecstatic to be able to go outside for a little bit before lunch. A group of children played, ‘What Time Is It, Mr. Fox?’ before dispersing throughout the yard to dive into other activities.
