Good Afternoon!
PREK1 friends came to sign in this morning. We used the book, ‘The Sandwich Swap’ to answer a question about the setting of the story. Once friends were able to recall what the setting of the story was, they wrote their name under the setting.
Later, we read the story during group. After we read the story, we talked about the two main characters in the story. Children took turns saying aloud the specific events that occurred in the story—in order!
K.RL.2.3: Identify important elements of the text (e.g. characters, setting, or events).
This morning Hannah shared her families tradition of celebrating Chinese New Year with the class. Hannah’s Mom read “Ruby’s Chinese New Year” to the class, which taught about how Chinese New year is traditionally celebrated. Afterward Hannah’s family did a Chinese Lantern making craft with the kids and shared a traditional snack. Thank you so much for sharing!
Since working of our Valentine bags and valentines for classmates at home, a lot of the class has been thinking about Valentines Day. We set up a welcome activity to encourage imaginative play around the interest. Some friends set up a little Valentines Coffee shop with heart shaped cakes and candies to eat.
Breakfast: Cheerios with fresh apples.
Lunch: Peanut butter on whole wheat flatbread, fresh apples/banana, and fresh cucumber/tomatoes.
PM Snack: Whole wheat cinnamon raisin bagels with cream cheese.
Wee Sprouts: Fresh peppers and cucumbers
Enjoy the rest of your day!
