Good Afternoon!
**We have several children out who are sick. So far, the symptoms include fever, cold, and a plain icky feeling (very down, not self). Just as a reminder if you would like, here’s the link to the handbook where the illness procedure is laid out. Thanks!

Nahla, Maya, and Tate headed into the kitchen where we used Fall inspired paint colors. We talked about each color and then connected those colors when we went outside. We looked at all of the leaves that were outside on the ground.
Right when we headed out, we saw a squirrel rummaging throughout the backyard. We followed him
.
Maya pointed out, “Ahhh! Ahhh!” She had spotted a rollie pollie. We watched as the bug crawled from one side of the deck to another.
Saskia layed out a leaf on the ground so that the rollie pollie could have a snack!
For breakfast, children had bagels with butter and banana. Lunch consisted of whole wheat bagels with melted cheese, tomatoes/red pepper, and pears. PM snack was rice cakes with hummus.
Wee sprouts: Cucumbers. Breakfast: Whole wheat rice cakes with peanut butter and bananas. Lunch: Toasted cheddar on whole wheat bagels, fresh PPC veggie bowls (red peppers, carrots and cherry tomatoes) and Jujubes and pears. Snack: Peanuts and fresh fruit.
Have a great Wednesday. –Laurie
Happy Tuesday!
Yesterday, our newest friend Annabelle joined us! We’re so excited to have Annabelle and her family with us. Miss Annabelle is almost three months old.
This morning, we heard a lot of noise outside which ended up being a whole lot of rain! So, we made our own noise inside
. Shakers, drums, pianos, and xylophones were all available to our friends!
Friends went up in the habitrail to watch the rain fall out of the sky.
A little gross motor play always does a body good!
For breakfast, children had cheerios and grapes. Lunch consisted of refried bean and cheese tortillas, apples/grapes, and tomatoes/cucumbers. PM snack was cheese and pretzels.
Every Tuesday morning, when older swimmers swim away,
Sensory exploration is out for those who stay.
For if you’re two or three or four, to touch and smell and see,
Is how you learn about your world and how you learn to be.
Even if you’re Five……
It makes you COME ALIVE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

On this Blue Bus morning, we jumped into opportunities to create math: First, Math FAB K.4.1: Identify and describe common geometric shapes. We also incorporated Math FAB K.4.3 by using the terms: inside, outside, between, above and below.
We further explored shapes at the Play Do table by singing (to the tune Frere Jacques)
“Rolling, rolling, rolling, rolling, make a ball, make a ball.
A circle can be a ba-all, a circle can be a ba-all,
Rolling a ball, rolling a ball.”
We sang about pressing rectangles and pinching triangles.
We folded rectangular wash cloths.
We made it a great day.-Laurie

Happy Wednesday!
Today, we wished Miss Jessica a very Happy Birthday! We love getting to see her during naptime! ![]()
Maya, Lucy, and Nahla got bundled up and went off on a walk around the neighborhood. We heard dogs. We saw birds, squirrels, and leaves. Lucy motioned to Miss Mindy that she wanted a leaf.
That prompted our leaf exploration as we continued our walk. Maya, Lucy, and Nahla were each given a leaf. As we walked, we talked about the color of each leaf and compared the sizes. Maya quickly found out that it’s very easy to rip a leaf. Lucy took her leaf and ripped it up until there was nothing left! Of course once our leaf was all gone, we got another
.
We saw construction trucks that are working on the roads. Friends noticed how loud they were! As we walked back to WWF, we heard a train passing by so we stopped to watch that as well.
Once we got back, it was off to the rocks!
The backyard is full of leaves! Such a beautiful site!
It was all smiles today during nap time.
For breakfast, children had whole wheat bagels with butter and banana. Lunch consisted of whole grain tortillas with no-nut butter (made with golden peas), mixed vegetables, and banana. PM snack was thin rice cakes with hummus.
Have a fantastic night!
Today we loaded Group A into our Weehicle and drove the winding roads to Galien, Michigan. The WF caravan following us to the orchard know what I mean by winding roads! (Sometimes google maps can give you some interesting roads to travel!)
It was a beautiful morning, in a beautiful place. Springhope Farms is worth the drive to experience the quiet and quaint apple picking experience that I was seeking for our kids.
There were no bouncy houses, corn mazes, ginormous slides, or crowds of school age kids. Instead of all that, we spent one on one time with Springhope Farm owner Bob Woods. It was just us in the orchard…and we found trees loaded with wonderful sweet apples that were all within our preschoolers’ reach. Everyone enjoyed the hayride and walking down the lane picking red delicious from one side and the yellow delicious apples from the other.
We can’t forget that we have 2 birthdays today…Miss Jessica and Elliott! Happy Birthday!
Breakfast: Brown Rice cakes and pears.
Wee Sprouts: celery
Lunch: APPLES! and whole wheat tortillas with PB and sweet peppers
Snack is Elliott’s 5 year old birthday muffins (he is, not the muffins) and milk.
Have a great day!
