Hello!

Friends spent their morning and afternoon using sensory stepping stones. Children touched the stepping stones with their hands and stepped on them using their feet!

We also worked on our coordination and balance all day! Smile

We had a wonderful, relaxed morning and lunchtime today! Inside children chose a variety of activities:  group painting a birdhouse, easel painting on BIG paper, puzzles, stories, and working on drilling out holes in our bottle tops for a future project.   For Taylor, Sloane and Marina, the highlight of their morning was styling Miss Lisa’s hair.  Complete with water being squirted on her, clips and poniesSmile  We were outside for 90 minutes and enjoyed the cooler temps and fabulous breeze!

For breakfast we had Kashi granola and bananas.  Miss Lisa brought in homemade sloppy joes for lunch (special request from our big Little girls). We also had fresh roasted green beans and sliced apples and pears.  Snack is homemade blueberry banana smoothies and graham crackers.  We had a fresh garden veggie assortment for Wee Sprouts.

Hello!

Our morning started off with a bang! Friends moved about throughout the house. Happiness was evident all day! Our friends are enjoying baby Maya. We’re learning what we can do with babies as apposed to what we can’t do! Smile

To extend our glorious morning, friends headed into the kitchen where they dabbled in shaving cream. The sensorial experience was awesome for all involved!

WF 7/24 Wednesday

002

We got outside as quick as we could….and blew bubbles! Our bubbles led us to blasting “Bubbles in the Bathtub” out the backyard door. As we scrubbed out bodies, we danced, hopped onto “The Love Boat” and sailed the big steamer, meditating to “My Heart Will Go On”. All in the glorious sunshine!

022

Enjoy this beautiful day!

Wee Sprouts: Sweet peppers. Breakfast: Oatmeal Squares and pears. Lunch: Homemade pizza, fruit salad (blueberries/bananas/apples) and peas. Snack: Bananas and cheese.

Good Afternoon!

Eve and Keerthi started off their morning whipping up some breakfast in the kitchen! We’re working on sharing our toys and using our words when we want or need something. At this age, words are golden Smile. Children are learning the different words to use in certain situations such as no, mine, and please/thank you.

Children gathered in the story area where Miss Marty read multiple books. Friends gestured and followed along.

IMG_5845IMG_5855

It was another nice day outside. Baby Maya and her friends ventured outside where we watched our Wee friends wrap up water play. Most of us headed to the teeter totters where we went back and forth while singing a song.

IMG_5877IMG_5878IMG_5885

For breakfast, children had chex and blueberries. Lunch consisted of turkey, cheddar cheese slices, tortilla bread, blueberries, and mixed vegetables. PM snack was fresh garden cucumbers and hard boiled eggs.

“The spirit of the water has no bounds. Honor the water, as rain drops fall to the earth, honor the lakes and rivers and oceans, honor the waters as you bathe or shower each day, and give thanks for each glass of water you drink.” And don’t forget the Wee Friends sprinklers.

067

We spent our morning outside, honoring and enjoying the cold water on our hot skin! Water makes up happy. It cools us off, it instantly engages us, it lightens us up and it refreshes us in every way!

Wee Sprouts: WF garden green beans. Breakfast: Cheerios and pear slices. Lunch: Turkey and cheddar cheese sandwiches on whole wheat bread, fruit salad and peas. Snack: Pretzels and hummus.

IMG_5787IMG_5831

We also celebrated Eren’s 2nd birthday! He brought in a delectable treat for afternoon snack! Thanks to Eren and his Mom and Dad. Happy birthday Eren!

IMG_5832IMG_5829

Friends headed outside this morning where we spent time in the beautiful sunshine. It was a gorgeous morning! The sandbox was a hit. We love when the sand is a little damp. It’s so much better to build with Smile.

WF Monday 7/22

001

For the next two weeks Washington HS Senior (and Mel’s niece) Amanda Brown will be earning service hours at Wee Friends. Welcome! Also, Cassie and Finn are back!

The morning began with music. That led to a request, by Sophie, for The Wizard of Oz.

015

Our new big sisters continue to act out their new roles by caring for their babies. This morning Grandma Lisa babysat while the moms went to the ballet. Then they rode a train with Granny at the helm.

042

Caleb and Elliott worked on the signs “STOP” and “GO” and studied the letters that make up those words. Finn showed us his wet polyester pirate’s hat, so we explored that word as well.

048

Sydney set out to find as many ways to build with Magna Tiles as possible. A leg cast and bracelet were among the several creations she……created.

041

A great start to our Wee Week! Happy Monday!

Wee Sprouts: WF garden green beans. Breakfast: Whole wheat bagels with peanut butter and pear slices. Lunch: Penne pasta with red beans, cucumbers and tomatoes and blueberry/pineapple/pear fruit salad. Snack: Yogurt and oranges.

WF Friday 7/19 O-B-E-Y

003

Obey. It’s a word that is never used at Wee Friends. Do we encourage our friends to listen to their teacher’s and friend’s words? Absolutely! But never O-B-E-Y. That’s why it was such a surprise when the word appeared underneath our sand letter writing exploration. The teacher’s intention was to create the word BE, and the bookend letters did not even come into the radar. Oops and hehehehhe. That was a funny one.

007

The other words that came into view did happen today: Nice, Hapy and Jug. Jugs of water being consumed to keep us cooled down. That and finding the coolest parts of our backyard.

049

We also experimented with stilts.

029

It is a hapy and nice day. We have obeyed the only two Wee Rules: treat others with kindness and run to the potty as fast as you can. Smile

Wee Sprouts: Carrots. Breakfast: Cheddar Cheesy grits and bananas. Lunch: Hummus on whole wheat tortillas, bananas and carrots. Snack: Pear slices and graham crackers.

WF Thursday 7/18 Once Upon a Time…

001

There was a car and a piggy….who drove the car. We began our day assembling a consonant puzzle and then telling a story, using the puzzle boards as our subjects.

Ada and Arleigh found a beautiful dead fly-fully intact with all it’s iridescent colors. They chose to pin it onto the insect board.

008

The dinos (after being repaired) were adorned with their new colorful wardrobe!

032

To cool everyone off, Lisa led a game of hide-and-seek, under the shade of the Wee Wee tree, using her sun glasses.

037

What better place to seek respite from the sun than the cozy corner of our green garden. Elliott and Lea enjoyed caring for the garden….and having a little snack.

036

Tomorrow, we are planning on setting up water play in the backyard. If your child doesn’t have a suit at Wee Friends, please bring one in tomorrow! Thank you!

Wee Sprouts: Cucumbers. Breakfast: Cheerios and apple slices. Lunch: Peanut butter and jelly on whole wheat, WF garden kale with Ranch and green grapes. Snack: Orange slices and cottage cheese.

Enjoy your day!
