Good Afternoon!
We played Community Helper Bingo in K/PREK1 group today after reading ‘A Child’s Calendar’. While any game like this brings out our competitive side, I witnessed children helping their peers find various spaces on their boards and cheering each other along.
Social Studies: K.2.1 Give examples of people who are community helpers (inside the classroom and outside the classroom) and describe how they help us.
Yesterday, Miss Linsey started an art project where children got to experiment by making a secondary color by mixing two primary colors. This morning, a few friends continued this project as they didn’t do the project yesterday. The colors that they were able to make from simply mixing yellow, blue, and red together made them extremely happy and curious.
The rest of our morning consisted of children scattering into various areas of the environment.
Rowan worked on her balancing skills are she stacked rocks while Bo chose to do a shape activity. UNO has become a daily activity with our older friends and this morning, Daniel and Millie played a few rounds together.
We have been loving being able to go outside this week! While it was cloudy and a little windy, we enjoyed getting some fresh air.
Breakfast– Kix and fresh strawberries.
Lunch– Brown rice with shredded pork, fresh pineapple, and fresh snap peas/cucumber.
PM snack– Whole wheat crackers with peanuts.
Wee Sprout– Fresh snap peas.
Have a lovely night!
-Mindy
