Breakfast:  Whole grain brown rice cakes with peanut butter and bananas.

Lunch:  Ham lunchmeat and Colby-jack cheese slice on whole grain wheat bread, fresh pineapple and cherry tomatoes (from our garden)!

Afternoon Snack:  Pretzels and mozzarella cheese stick.

Wee Sprouts:  Yellow bell peppers.

Good Afternoon!

This morning we engaged in a shaving cream sensory experience.  We added green, red, silver and yellow glitter to it to make it sparkle. We also added animals and Little People to enhance our play in it.  Paige used her cow to make hoof prints in her shaving cream.

We then transitioned outside to engaged in many activities.

Breakfast:  Whole grain Cheerios and fresh strawberries.

Lunch:  Whole grain brown rice with shredded chicken, bananas and cucumbers.

Afternoon Snack:  Sunflower seeds and Ritz crackers.

Good Afternoon!

An activity was put out at the art table that was part treasure hunt, part sensory experience. Children sorted through kinetic sand to look for treasure! Friends moved the kinetic sand around their plastic bin and as they did this, they hid their treasure so they could find it.

When we went outside, we had to dodge a quick five minute shower. Children took advantage of this and decided to run in the rain!

After the rain let up, children dispersed throughout the yard to explore. Towards the end of the morning, most children ended up in the sandbox where they dug deep holes and used metal buckets to make towers.

Lunch– Brown rice with shredded turkey, fresh cantaloupe/banana, and fresh purple beans/cucumber/pepper.

Good Afternoon!   We kept ourselves quite active this morning, not knowing if we would be able to get outside due to the rain.  We engaged in several movement activities to keep our bodies in motion.  We hopped or walked on the liquid colored squares and textured stepping stones.  We also worked on following behind the friend in front of us as we walked/hopped on them.  Those of us who weren’t wearing our shoes experienced the feel of the different textures on the bottom of our feet.

We then all worked on our building skills with the waffle blocks.  We worked on interlocking our pieces together to create a long line cover a large space.  When we were done building with the blocks,  several of us sang the clean up song and we all worked together putting the blocks in the basket until they were all cleaned up.  Great teamwork!

Several friends asked for the song, I’m Going on a Bear Hunt.  We acted out the motions for the climbing up the tree part of the song.

The rain stopped and we were able to head outside and play!

Breakfast:  Overnight Oatmeal with cinnamon/sugar mixture and bananas.

Lunch:  Farm fresh scrambled eggs with shredded cheese, orange bell peppers, apple slices and whole grain wheat flatbread.

Afternoon Snack:  Blue corn chips and hummus.

Wee Sprouts:  Cucumbers.

Good Afternoon!

Friends were anxious to explore the housekeeping area with all of the added dress up material again today. Regardless of size, everyone has tried to fit into the dragon costume. It’s a little tighter on some friends than others!

Before heading outside, the art area became very busy with friends using markers and labels to start their creations. At one point, several children decided to draw a rainbow yet everyone’s rainbow was unique and looked different!

The name of the game outside this morning was balance! A few of our older kids decided that the mulch was hot lava so they created several paths to take to avoid the hot lava. This required them balancing on the logs and various nature materials so they wouldn’t fall into the lava!

A group of younger friends tested their balance skills along the balance beam structure in the rock area. William took the moveable wood items and placed them strategically around the area so that they wouldn’t need to step in the rocks.

Good Afternoon!

A few of our friends began their morning climbing on the ladder and sliding down the slide on the habi-trail.

We then moved over to the cube to play with our baby dolls in a nice cozy spot.

We then all headed outside to paint on the easel together.  We used the colors; green, purple, red and yellow to paint on a long piece of white paper.  Miss Bekah mentioned that since we all were painting with bright colors together on a white piece of paper that we were creating a mural.  It turned out beautiful.

Eliza engaged in a clean finger painting activity while we were painting as well.

After painting, we rode bikes, tossed our balls into the basketball hoop, climbing the climbing house and exploring nature.  What a great day!

Good Afternoon!

We began our morning independently engaged in several activities.  Arthur and Emma engaged in reading books from the bookshelf. Another friend was using her imaginative play skills and used the band-aids from the doctor kit as a cell phone.  She told Miss Bekah that her “cell phone was not working and needs to be charged.”

We then headed into the kitchen for moon sand sensory play.  We were busy scooping and making molds with our scoops.

We then headed outside to enjoy the cooler, refreshing air.  We rode on the scooter boards and scooped sand into a cup and the bed of the dump truck.

Happy Monday!

Several friends took turns at the playdough activity. At one point, the our children who were working with playdough decided they were going to open a restaurant that served pizza, cookies, and cake. Each friend had a job and was asked to make a specific item on the menu.

We got quite the veggie haul from our garden this morning! Tomatoes, beets, and purple beans were washed off and offered to friends (which they happily ate!).
