Good Afternoon. JAMMIE DAY TOMORROW!!!!!

One of our friends has just started wearing glasses, so her mommy brought in a couple books for us to read. Douglas, You Need Glasses and Fancy Nancy Spectacular Spectacles were a big hit with a couple of our friends.

We always work with our friends on the fact that we all look different and do things differently, but we are all wonderful inside and out. Smile

We then headed into the kitchen for an awesome science activity/experiment.We have been listening to a song called, The Freeze Dance… Lava..

Miss Bekah used vinegar and baking soda to create our own kind of lava. Friends LOVED the way it fizzed and how it bubbled up. Miss Marty asked friends if the smell was a stinky smell or a good smell to them. All of our friends said, “stinky!!”

After that was all cleaned up, we extended our kitchen play by playing in a bins of water. We washed plates. cups and the food from the housekeeping center.

What a fun filled day!

Good Afternoon and Happy Monday!I hope you all had a great weekend.

PLEASE NOTE: WEE FRIENDS WILL BE CLOSED THIS THURSDAY AND FRDAY 11/25 AND 11/26 IN OBSERVANCE OF THE THANKSGIVING HOLIDAY.  WE ALSO, WILL HAVE A PAJAMMA DAY ON WEDNESDAY.

Today we engaged in a sensory and hand-eye coordination activity. We took dot markers and dotted all over our white papers. Our pictures are very colorful and bright. Some of us dotted hard while others dotted softly. This can be an extension of our play while we are in the main area of the classroom as well by showing friends the differences of  hard and soft touches.

We then engaged in an interactive gross motor activity. Miss Bekah taught us a song called, See the Bunnies Sleeping. We all lie down and pretend to be sleeping and then we wake up and hop like bunnies. We all love this song very much, it’s one of our favorites… especially when we switch to different animals to act out.

Good Afternoon!

We read, ‘But No Elephants’ in K/PREK1 group. Before we even started the story, a group member raised their hand and said, “Excuse me Miss Mindy but you just said a bathroom word.”

This lead to a conversation about the two different words: but and butt. Only a conversation meant for a preschool and kindergarten group Smile.

After the story was finished, children came up to the white board to draw a line from their equation to the answer. It was a mixture of addition and subtraction problems which kept us on our toes!

K.CA.1-2: Solve real-world problems, objects, or drawings that involve addition and subtraction within 10. Demonstrate the equation (e.g., 5= 3+2 and 5= 4+1).

The art easel space was shuffling with kids this morning as children painted using a variety of colors. There was also an array of paintbrushes with different sized bristles!

The circle table and art table were busy with bead bracelets and table games. Several friends made bracelets for teachers or their parents!

The chilly weather didn’t keep us away today! We got a decent amount of outside time in. It helped that our bodies were constantly moving which kept us warm.

Good Afternoon.

Miss Tami brought us a fish from her pond yesterday. We allowed him to get acclimated to his new water temperature, and then we set him free to explore the water and his new environment.

Friends are so excited to have another fishy to look at. Since we only have one we decided to name him. We were given the names, “Glub, Glub and Hey Diddle Diddle as two choices. (Haha) but we decided on Orangy! While both of the other names were adorable, we felt Orangy was more suitable for our new classroom friend. Make sure you say “Hi” to him. Smile
