Good Afternoon!

The second day of the Wee Friends Olympics saw children step out of their comfort zone! The Javelin throw (or Tube Toss as we call it) tested our physical strength and coordination.

Our older friends did a great job at demonstrating how to throw the tube for their younger peers. Miss Kim got out the tape measurer to see how long our throws were and the longest was around 21 feet!

We were able to pull up a few past Olympic videos of the javelin throw and WOW! Friends were very impressed with how far they were able to throw it.

By the end of the morning, we really got our technique down!

Good Afternoon.

This morning we had a very special visitor that will be starting our classroom within the next couple of weeks. Emma is a sibling of James in the preschool classroom. We can’t wait to have her daily in the environment.

This morning we happily engaged in the pegs and peg boards. This activity enhances our fine motor, hand-eye coordination and color recognition skills as well as being able to identify the shapes of the boards.

During outdoor play, Adrian engaged himself at the chalkboard. He told Miss Bekah he made a tornado. He was using great imagination skills with his drawing. Just what we love to see.

Good Afternoon and Happy Friday!

We had no problems chasing our rainy day blues away today! Boy Oh Boy, did we keep busy!?!?!

We got our bodies up and  moving with a dance party. We heard our “Hair Up” song from the trolls soundtrack and put our hair up in the air.

We then had a great time with helping a friend celebrate her second birthday today by making playdoh birthday cakes. Our candles were golf tees! We all had such a good time.

Happy Friday!

There was so much going on this morning! The art table saw several different activities form this morning.

The first activity that children requested was bead bracelets! Children love making bead bracelets using pipe cleaners and colorful beads. Not only is this a great fine motor exercise but friends love implementing either their favorite colors or a pattern and sometimes even a word.

Of course, the first thing children think about is who they’re going to make their bracelet for (and it’s usually either mom or dad! Smile)

Later on in the morning, Miss Annastecia helped most of our kindergarteners with origami! Friends were able to complete three origami creations: star box, swan, and butterfly!

Good Afternoon!

**Please bring a swimsuit for your child by next Wednesday, July 21st. Thanks!

We had a long line of friends waiting for a turn at the art table where children explored with two water colors. They used eye droppers to transfer water from jar to jar and worked on their pouring skills! Some friends explored this activity for over 30 minutes!

DSCN8122DSCN8123DSCN8142

While Mack and Franklin waited for a turn at the art table, they decided they wanted to make a maze using dominos. Once their maze was complete, they took colored teddy bears and had them travel throughout the maze.

DSCN8129DSCN8148DSCN8149

We went outside and children immediately dispersed into various parts of the outdoor environment.

DSCN8171DSCN8203

A large group of friends stationed themselves in the sandbox where they worked together to form a large sand pile. Children created little holes on the side of the hill. The holes connected to one another and formed a really cool maze!
