Good Afternoon.

We had a great day today with so many engaging activities. We manipulated our hands with the magnatiles, wheels and connectors, dinosaurs, and cars, trucks and trains. We were busy little beavers. We even had a marching dance party and played in the sensory table. What a full day of fun!

Happy Monday!

In K group, we read ‘Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs’. We focused on syllables as we read aloud six of the seven dwarfs and placed them in the appropriate syllable category. We read aloud six of the seven dwarf names and friends worked together to figure out the missing dwarfs name which happened to be the only one syllable name!

K.RF.3.2: Orally segment words into syllables.

In PREK2, children worked on matching a group of items to the correct number. Each group member counted items on their own paper and after they were done counting, they connected it to the corresponding number!

The rest of our day was full of stories, puppet play, and exploring the art table. It was a day full of dialogue between peers, arguments and frustration, and ultimately, cooperation and understanding.

A short but good Teacher Tom blog from the other day caught my eye: ‘I Was a Different Person Then’. Isn’t that the truth for all of us! This quote resonated with me and I wanted to share it:

“After all, it’s our business, this process of human change, which is another way of saying growth or learning. We aren’t carpenters building children. We don’t fill them like one would empty vessels. We’re more like gardeners tending plants: we keep them safe, make sure they get food and water, pull the weeds, add a bit of fertilizer every now and then, and otherwise watch them change day after day after day. When things go awry, we make a study, we check with colleagues and experts, we strive to determine exactly who they are right now and what they need, then we make alterations to the child’s environment, but whatever happens, we don’t change the child any more than we educate them: they ultimately must change themselves.”

Good Afternoon and i hope you enjoyed your weekend.

This morning a friend asked for “marching” and teachers knew exactly what that meant. He wanted the Dinosaurs Go Marching, a very fun interactive song that we ALL love!

We march, nibble on our lunch and sleep during our marching song. It’s our absolute FAVORITE song these days!

Then we went over with Miss Bekah and engaged with our play dino’s and reenacted what we had just done while our bodies while marching.

Happy Friday!

A glimpse of how we wrapped up our week:

Star We finally welcomed back every single classmate from our winter vacation. How good it feels to all be back together!

Star Demons were created at the art table and castles were built with trio blocks. Our imaginations were in super high gear!

Star Friends frequented the island for fresh broccoli and fresh cucumber while sipping on vacation water (aka lemon water). It is absolutely amazing how popular vegetables are here: Wee Sprouts for the win!

Star Puzzles upon puzzles were completed ranging from foam puzzles to 48 piece puzzles. We are definitely a puzzle loving group!

…and as we dispersed into various activities this afternoon, we let the sun shine in through the windows—something we have not seen much of this week! What a great end to our week back from winter vacation.

Good Afternoon!

**Please make sure that your child has snow gear at school including snow pants, boots, hat/gloves, and winter coat. Thank you!

What a full day!

Throughout the morning, tons of puzzles were completed and many art projects were started.

Evie and Daniel have been tackling our wooden 48 piece puzzles together (rather quickly!) so today, they attempted to complete the 60 piece puzzles. They ended up doing three but not before Daniel shared, “These are much harder!”

Franklin and Mack have been spending much of their morning at the art table lately where they make an array  of creatures including demons! The details they use continue to change and evolve. We love watching their imaginations come to life at the art table!

We have been itching to go outside all week and most of the ice in the backyard finally melted and we were THRILLED! We spent about an hour outside, exploring the snow covered backyard..and eating snow of course!

Good Afternoon.

This morning friends were very excited about playing in the sensory table full of rice, corn and beans. We scooped, filled and picked apart our corn cob stalks. We did pretty well with keeping the majority of the mixture in the table on not on the floor as well. Smile
